Life on the road is not an easy one but for Florida based trio the Walkers it is a divine calling.  It is a calling that began with their first concert as a full time ministry on November 16, 1991 in the city of Dothan, AL.  Since that date there have been ups and downs and twists and turns.  One million miles have been traveled, thirty-five hundred services conducted and countless numbers of souls have been won and impacted for the Kingdom of God.

In 1991, the Walkers began a full time ministry that was primarily based in Florida and South Georgia.  By the end of 1992 their territory had expanded to the 6 southeastern states of Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and North and South Carolina.  As time went on, word got out about a dedicated family that was spreading the Gospel through music and preaching and invitations starting coming from farther away.  As of 2016, the ministry has expanded from coast to coast, ministering in 42 states and the nation of Canada.

While the joys of full time ministry have been many, there have been the hardships endured along the way.  The toughest test to the calling of the Walkers came on the morning of January 1, 1994.  After a great night in Inman, SC, the Walkers were headed for a couple of services in High Point, NC.  Little did they know that when they left Inman for North Carolina that they would not all make the trip.  After their bus filled with carbon monoxide poisoning and affected all the members of the family, at 5:36am Billy Walker, Sr. was pronounced dead.  At that moment a decision was to be made, to continue and trust that God had a plan, that he would make a way and to go forward or to go home.  The thousands that have been impacted by their ministry are glad that they stayed the course and carried on.

After the release of their debut TMG album “Twenty” the results were outstanding. The Walkers have had 3 Top 40 songs on the Inspirational Country Music charts with 2 entering the Top 10.  The Walkers were nominated for Group of the Year by the Inspirational Country Music Association (ICMA) for the 2013 Inspirational Country Music Awards.

The Walkers are one of the most diverse groups in gospel music today.  They perform primarily original songs that group members have written.  In addition to this they perform some of CCLI’s Top 100 praise and worship songs as well as the beloved hymns.  The Walkers are one of the top up and coming artists of the Christian Country industry.  Although they have been around for years, they are just now establishing their brand of music in that particular genre of music.

If you are looking for a professional Christian music group that is as talented as dedicated and sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit, you will be hard pressed to find a better group than the Walkers.  In the 24 years, they have been in service for the Kingdom of God and have learned to adapt to any situation that you would need. Whether it is for a full concert, worship service or you would like them to lead your function in praise and worship they are experienced and skilled in any setting or location.
